The Gosport and Fareham inshore lifeboat and Portsmouth Coastguard team were scrambled this lunchtime to a terrifying incident on the water.
Just after 1pm on Sunday, rescue crews were called to the scene near the Royal Museum Jetty in Portsmouth. A family on board a speedboat was caught out when waves hit, flipping their boat upside down.
The upturned boat was quickly righted but had taken on water. Gosport lifeboat crew took the vessel under tow to meet up with the Portsmouth coastguard team onshore.
An ambulance and paramedic from South Central Ambulance Service were also dispatched to the scene. Thankfully, no serious injuries have been reported so far.
