Four men were arrested on Monday evening after a violent fight involving weapons erupted on Lincoln Road, Newark, just before 7.30pm.
Police arrived swiftly at the chaotic scene, cuffing one suspect within five minutes of their arrival.
Officers then spotted a white van speeding away from the scene and quickly stopped the vehicle. Three additional suspects were detained, bringing the total number of arrests to four.
The arrested individuals include three men aged 31, 37, and 48, all held on suspicion of affray, as well as a 16-year-old boy who was arrested at the scene for the same offence. All remain in police custody as the investigation continues.
Detective Constable Jon Evans of Nottinghamshire Police reassured the public, stating: “We believe this to be an isolated incident with no wider risk to the community.”
“Thankfully no one was seriously injured, but we understand how concerning it was for local residents,” Evans added. “You may notice a visible police presence today, but this is purely for reassurance.”
He urged anyone who witnessed the fight or has any information, CCTV, or footage to come forward.
