Tragic news has emerged from Shepway, Maidstone, where Jamie Simmons, a beloved father of two, was fatally stabbed outside his home on the evening of Monday, 4 May 2020.

Friends have identified the victim as Jamie Simmons, who was attacked by two men at his property on Cambridge Crescent. Despite the swift response from emergency services, Jamie died at the scene after sustaining multiple stab wounds.

Kent and Essex Major Crime teams have launched a full murder investigation. A crime scene remains in place at the Cambridge Crescent address while inquiries continue.

Two suspects, both known to Jamie Simmons, have been arrested and are currently in police custody as the investigation proceeds.

Friends and community members have paid heartfelt tributes to Jamie. Danny Price said: “RIP Jamie, he was one nice fella. Really sad. God bless.” Amy Stubberfield added: “I can’t believe this! So sorry.”

Kent Police confirmed the stabbing occurred at approximately 9:15pm on Monday, 4 May 2020. Officers and the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended the scene promptly but were unable to save Jamie.

Detectives are appealing for anyone with information to contact Kent Police on 101, quoting reference 04-1448. Alternatively, anonymous tips can be provided to Kent Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
