A devastating fire has struck the Silvertown community after a fierce blaze broke out on Barrier Point Road. Firefighters rushed to the scene, but despite their heroic efforts, the fire tragically claimed one life.
The inferno erupted shortly before 10pm on Tuesday, prompting urgent calls from concerned neighbours. Six fire pumps battled the flames in a desperate attempt to control the situation, but sadly, a fatality was confirmed at the scene.
The London Fire Brigade and Metropolitan Police have now joined forces to investigate the cause of the blaze. A crime scene has been established, and Barrier Point Road remains closed while investigators search for clues.
The Metropolitan Police have yet to issue an official statement but confirmed that the investigation will focus on determining how the tragic fire started and what led to the loss of life.
