A fatal fire has devastated a property in Folkestone, Kent, prompting an urgent appeal from Kent Police for witnesses to come forward with information.
The blaze broke out at approximately 10:30am on Thursday 17 February 2022, on Shorncliffe Road, opposite the junction with Christ Church Road. Emergency services, including Kent Police, Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS), and South East Coast Ambulance Service, responded swiftly to the scene.
KFRS successfully extinguished the fire, but tragically, one person was pronounced dead at the location. The cause of the fire remains unclear, and police are treating the incident as suspicious.
An investigation is currently underway. Kent Police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the fire or has relevant information to contact them. Witnesses can call Kent Police on 01843 222289, quoting reference 46/31784/22.
