Welfare Alarm for Man at Library Triggers Response

The incident was sparked by urgent welfare concerns over a man inside the library.

“We are currently at Centenary Square following concerns for the welfare of a man,” confirmed a West Midlands Police spokesperson. “A cordon remains in place but nearby roads are not affected.”

An ambulance service spokesperson added: “We were called shortly after 11am regarding concerns for a patient’s welfare on Broad Street, Birmingham. One ambulance, a paramedic officer, and the Hazardous Area Response Team are currently at the scene.”
