Haringey Shooting Horror: Innocent Man Shot Dead in Mistaken Identity Tragedy
Victim Killed at Home After Opening Door to Gunmen
Detectives are hunting killers after a 27-year-old man was shot dead outside his home in Haringey on Monday evening. Police believe the victim was the wrong target in a chilling case of mistaken identity.
Officers rushed to Wiltshire Gardens, N4, at 8.22pm following reports of gunfire. Armed police and paramedics found the man with a fatal head wound.
Despite frantic efforts by emergency services, he died at the scene. His family have been informed and are receiving support, while formal identification is awaited.
Masked Gunmen Flee Scene on Moped
Witnesses say the victim opened his door to two suspects dressed in dark gear and wearing motorcycle helmets. The attackers then fled on a moped towards Finsbury Park Avenue.
The suspects remain on the loose. Police have set up extensive cordons and launched a Section 60 stop-and-search order in Haringey, extended into Tuesday evening.
Police Plead for Witnesses with Dashcam Footage
