Emergency crews rushed to a devastating house fire on Dorothy Drive, Ramsgate, on Tuesday, December 24, 2024. The tragic blaze resulted in the death of a woman at the scene.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service received the emergency call at 2:14 PM and dispatched four fire engines to tackle the fire. Firefighters used high-pressure hose reel jets and breathing apparatus to manage the smoky and hazardous conditions inside the property.

Despite the efforts of the emergency teams, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Initial investigations indicate the fire was accidental, with authorities continuing to examine the site to determine further details.

Kent Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) also attended the incident. Officials have expressed their condolences to the family and friends of the victim during this difficult time.

This tragic event highlights the dangers of house fires, particularly during the winter months. Residents are urged to regularly test their smoke alarms and adhere to fire safety guidelines to prevent similar incidents.
