Kent Police are investigating a hit-and-run incident in Canterbury where a teenage girl was injured on Rheims Way near the Wincheap roundabout.
The collision occurred at approximately 6pm on Saturday, November 16, 2024. The teenage girl was struck by a car and was taken to hospital. Fortunately, her injuries have been reported as not life-threatening.
Following the crash, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene. Police are actively searching for the driver and collecting evidence related to the incident.
A Kent Police spokesperson said, “If you saw the collision or captured any relevant footage on a dashcam, your information could be crucial in helping us identify the vehicle and understand what happened.”
Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage from the area at that time to come forward immediately.
To assist with the investigation, witnesses are asked to call Kent Police on 01843 222289, quoting reference 16-1023. Alternatively, information can be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
Police also remind all drivers of their legal obligation to stop and provide details if involved in a collision. Fleeing the scene can result in serious legal consequences.
