Staffordshire Police have launched an urgent welfare appeal after blood-stained clothing was discovered dumped in a bin on Branston Road, Burton-on-Trent. Officers arrived at the scene at 6pm on Wednesday, 7 January, and are now keen to locate the owner, who is believed to be a possible assault victim, to ensure their safety.
The items found include grey tracksuit bottoms, size large with a narrow leg, possibly women’s; a white top; a large grey jumper from Primark; size 6 pink trainers; and large black leggings with white stripes from Shein.
The bloodied clothes have been seized as vital evidence in the ongoing investigation. Staffordshire Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the area to help piece together the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Officers are urging anyone who may have seen a wounded person or suspicious behaviour nearby to come forward.
