Police rushed to a shop on St Anns Road in Harrow at around 12:20pm on Monday, 30 January following a bold armed robbery. The suspect, posing as a customer, asked to see a Rolex Submariner watch before launching his attack.
Without warning, the man jumped over the counter and brandished a handgun, threatening a staff member. He then grabbed the expensive Rolex watch and fled the scene. Fortunately, the sales assistant was not injured during the incident.
Detectives have now released CCTV images of the suspect, who was wearing a distinctive ‘Royal Ascot’ baseball cap. Detective Constable Tom Grimshaw urged the public to assist in identifying and locating the man.
“This was a very traumatic experience for the member of staff, who had a gun pointed at them,” Grimshaw said. “Take a good look at the images. The suspect wore a very distinctive ‘Royal Ascot’ baseball cap. If you recognise him or have been offered a Rolex at a suspiciously low price, contact us immediately. We need to stop him before he strikes again.”
Anyone with information is asked to phone police on 101 quoting reference CAD 2906/30Jan. Those wishing to remain anonymous can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
