Detectives from the Metropolitan Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on Coldharbour Lane, Brixton, in the early hours of Saturday, 2 May. Multiple shots were fired from a vehicle, prompting a rapid police response.
Police arrived at the scene within four minutes of receiving reports. Working alongside the London Ambulance Service, officers provided emergency assistance to those injured. Rapid Police Response Officers, including specialist crime units, responded swiftly to reports received at 1.14am, enabling first aid to be administered immediately to the victims.
Four individuals were taken to hospital with gunshot wounds. A 25-year-old man remains in a life-threatening condition, while three others, aged 21, 47, and 70, sustained injuries described as neither life-threatening nor life-changing.
The Metropolitan Police continue their inquiries into the shooting and have appealed for any witnesses to come forward with information. The motives behind the incident have not been disclosed.
A spokesperson for the London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 1.13am on 2 May to reports of an incident near Coldharbour Lane, SW9. We sent ambulance crews, incident response officers and paramedics from our joint response unit to the scene. We also dispatched a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance.
“We treated four patients at the scene. We took two of them to a major trauma centre and the other two patients to a local hospital.”
