A brutal murder in sleepy Florida has left a town stunned after a 14-year-old girl was lured into the woods, shot multiple times, and set on fire.
Fake Romance Lures Teen to Death
Danika Troy disappeared on December 1. Her burnt body was later found deep in the Pace, Florida woods. Her mother, Ashley Troy, revealed 16-year-old Gabriel Williams pretended to be her daughter’s boyfriend just to trap her.
“I still need answers. I’m just left asking why. She just wanted to be in love,” Ashley told the New York Post.
Two Teens Held for Cold-Blooded Murder
- Gabriel Williams, 16, and 14-year-old Kimahri Blevins are charged with first-degree premeditated murder.
- Investigators say the killing stemmed from an online spat over Thanksgiving, when Danika blocked Blevins on social media.
- Blevins’ mum told cops he sneaked in late claiming he was smoking – but officers found no cigarette smell.
Danika’s mother called the social media drama a cover-up and blamed a “dark influence” for the savage crime. Both suspects remain locked up with no bail.
Gun Likely Stolen from Murderer’s Home
Sheriff Bob Johnson revealed the gun was probably swiped from Williams’ mother’s house. He warned prosecutors plan to try the teens as adults.
“You do an adult crime, you need to do adult time,” said the sheriff.
Small Town Shaken to Its Core
Locals described the usually quiet community as gripped by fear and disbelief.
“It shocks me. It’s always been so quiet here, and it’s getting bad. It’s terrifying, in fact,” said neighbour Sue Petrisch.
The Santa Rosa County School District mourned the loss of one of their own, sending heartfelt condolences to Danika’s family.
