Deadly Knife Attack Rocks Early Morning Lewisham
A 27-year-old man has been fatally stabbed in south east London. Sanchini Thompson was attacked in Lewisham just after 3am on Wednesday, 15 October. Police rushed to Rushey Green after reports of a stabbing at 3:06am.
Paramedics battled to save Sanchini, treating him at the scene before he was rushed to hospital. Tragically, he later died from a chest wound, confirmed by a post-mortem. Specialist officers are now supporting his grieving family.
Family Heartbroken as They Remember Loving Father
“In loving memory of a son, a father, and a cherished friend, our hearts are heavy,” Sanchini’s family said. “At just 27, he was a pillar of kindness and a devoted dad to his four-year-old daughter.
“He shared laughter and joy with all around him. His generosity and compassion touched friends, neighbours, and strangers alike. He will be deeply missed but lives on in the love and memories we hold.”
Met Police Launch Murder Probe – No Arrests Yet
The Met’s specialist crime command has opened a full murder investigation. Detective Chief Inspector Rebecca Woodsford is leading the inquiry and appeals for witnesses.
“Our thoughts are with Sanchini’s loved ones at this heartbreaking time. Knife crime has no place on our streets. We are working round the clock to find those responsible,” DCI Woodsford said.
