Huge Blaze Tears Through Forest Hill Bike Shop

A massive fire has erupted tonight at a bike shop in Forest Hill, South East London, engulfing the electric push bike service centre in fierce flames.

Over 60 Firefighters Battle Intense Fire

More than 60 firefighters and ten fire engines from the London Fire Brigade have rushed to the scene. The blaze is spreading rapidly inside the ground-floor shop, forcing crews to use a 32-metre ladder as a water tower to tackle the fire from above.

Cause of Fire Still a Mystery

Officials have confirmed the shop specialises in electric push bike servicing but have yet to identify what ignited the blaze. The cause remains unknown.

Witnesses Report “Massive” and “Violent” Flames

Locals described the scene as “massive” and “violent,” expressing worry for those nearby. One witness tweeted: “Massive fire in Forest Hill, hope everyone is alright and safe, looks violent.”

A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said:

“Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters were called to a fire on Perry Vale in Forest Hill. The fire is in a ground-floor shop. Residents are advised to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke.

A 25-metre cordon is in place. Please avoid the area. Expect significant traffic disruption in Forest Hill.”

The first emergency call came in at 18:27. Crews from Forest Hill, Lewisham, Beckenham, West Norwood and nearby stations responded immediately.”
