A shocking knife rampage in Pulborough has landed Thomas Hoe, 28, behind bars for 15 years.
Stabbing Rampage Rocks Quiet Street
On the evening of 16 January, chaos erupted on Pulborough Road just after 7:25pm. Police arrived to find two victims seriously wounded following a heated argument with Hoe. A 54-year-old woman, known to the attacker, was viciously stabbed. A 30-year-old man who tried to intervene suffered multiple stab wounds to his torso, arms, legs, and neck, needing emergency surgery.
In a bizarre twist, Hoe also stabbed himself in the leg before calling 999 to falsely report that three people had been attacked. Officers swooped in and arrested him at the scene.
Court Drama Ends in Heavy Sentence
At Crown Court, Hoe was cleared of attempted murder but convicted of two counts of grievous bodily harm with intent. He admitted to carrying a knife in public. Judge Michael Kent KC condemned the brutal attack and slammed Hoe with a tough 15-year sentence on 25 September.
Police Issue Stark Knife Crime Warning
“This was a particularly violent attack with lasting impact on the victims,” said Detective Constable Jules Shorrock. “Anyone who arms themselves with a knife faces serious consequences. Hoe’s sentence reflects that.”
Sussex Police stressed that fighting knife crime remains a top priority. They urged the public to think twice before carrying blades, warning of life-changing consequences.
