Racial Hate Crime Shakes Oldbury: Police Hunt Two White Men After Daylight Assault

A brutal racial attack has sent shockwaves through Oldbury and the wider Birmingham area. Just before 8.30am on Tuesday, a woman in her 20s was assaulted and racially abused near Tame Road, sparking a major police manhunt.

Suspects Described: Police Seek Two White Men

West Midlands Police described the suspects as two white men. One has a shaved head, a heavy build, and wore a dark sweatshirt with gloves. The other man was seen sporting a grey top with a silver zip. During the shocking attack, a racist slur was hurled at the victim.

Authorities are urging anyone with information or witness accounts to come forward immediately. Call West Midlands Police on 101 and quote log 798 of 9 September.

Community Outrage and Support

The assault has ignited anger across local minority communities, already tense amid nationwide debates over immigration and asylum policies.

“We are working really hard to identify those responsible, with CCTV, forensic, and other inquiries well underway,” said Chief Superintendent Kim Madill, responsible for Sandwell policing. She also promised boosted patrols in the area to reassure worried residents.

Dabinderjit Singh of the Sikh Federation UK condemned the attack, calling on all politicians to adopt a zero-tolerance stance against racist violence. Meanwhile, Sikh Youth UK urged the community to stay vigilant and take safeguarding precautions.
