Tragic Death on M11 Near Harlow After Horror Crash
A man has died following a serious smash on the M11 near Harlow this afternoon (Sunday, 17 August 2025).
Car and Bike Collision Closes M11 for Hours
Emergency services were called just before 3.50pm after reports of a crash involving a car and motorbike on the southbound carriageway, close to Junction 7.
Despite frantic efforts by paramedics, the motorbike rider was pronounced dead at the scene. Essex Police confirmed specially trained officers are now supporting the rider’s family.
The M11 southbound was shut for several hours as collision investigators combed the scene. Drivers were urged to avoid the area and find alternative routes.
Police Issue Witness Appeal
“We can now confirm a man has died following the collision on the M11 this afternoon,” said an Essex Police spokesperson. “The collision involved a car and a motorbike and, sadly, the rider of the motorbike died at the scene. Specialist officers are supporting his family.”
Investigators are appealing for anyone with information or footage of the crash to come forward.
