Brutal Midnight Assault in Leyton as Woman Feeds Neglected Cats
A local woman faces serious surgery after a violent attack while feeding stray cats on Primrose Road, Leyton. The shocking assault happened around midnight between Monday 7 July and early Tuesday 8 July 2025.
Cat Care Turns Violent
The woman, who has cared for a group of neglected cats for over a year, was confronted by a man accusing her of stealing the animals. Before she could explain, he lunged and punched her twice in the face, then fled towards Goldsmith Road.
She suffered severe facial injuries requiring surgery. “I now need facial surgery to have bolts and plates to fix the fractured bones around my eye socket, my cheekbone, and jaw,” she revealed. “Violent people don’t belong in our neighbourhoods. Violence against one needs to end now.”

- Male, late teens to early 20s
- White/olive complexion, slim build, 5ft 6in to 6ft tall
- Wearing skull-cap style hat, light blue and white puffer jacket, dark trousers
