Terrifying Attack: Toddler Stung Over 150 Times by Yellow Jackets in Georgia

A two-year-old boy from Georgia is fighting for his life after being stung more than 150 times by aggressive yellow jackets. Little Beckham Reed, born with just one kidney, suffered severe multi-organ failure following the horrifying insect attack.

Innocent Backyard Ride Turns Nightmare

Beckham was riding his electric toy car with his cousins in the family backyard when he accidentally disturbed a yellow jacket nest. The wasps swarmed him “head to toe,” delivering over 150 painful stings, according to the family’s GoFundMe appeal.

Rushed Home Then Back to Hospital in Crisis

Initially treated with morphine and Benadryl at a local hospital, Beckham was sent home after appearing stable. But within 24 hours, his condition took a dangerous turn — he began turning yellow, a sign of severe illness. His parents rushed him to Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.

Doctors diagnosed multi-organ failure affecting his kidney, heart, and liver. Beckham was immediately transferred to Memorial Savannah’s intensive care unit, where he was put on dialysis and a ventilator. IV medications are being used to flush the deadly toxins from his body.

No Antivenom, Just Supportive Care

“There is no antivenom for yellow jacket stings. All doctors can do is support the body while it fights the toxins,”

the family revealed. Beckham’s young age and pre-existing condition have made the battle even tougher, with his parents staying by his side round-the-clock.

Community Rallies With Fundraising Drive

The family’s GoFundMe campaign has raised over $36,000 so far. The money will help support Beckham’s care and relieve the financial strain on his parents, who cannot work while caring for their critically ill son.

“His body is responding to the support and we continue to pray that his labs and organs improve,”

the page updates.
