Driver Who Mowed Down Woman in Brighton Pleads Guilty

A 27-year-old man has admitted deliberately hitting a woman with his car in Brighton, leaving her fighting for life.

Crash on Whitehawk Crescent

Fharharde Uddin, of no fixed address, drove straight into a woman he knew on Whitehawk Crescent on August 19, 2023. Witnesses say he then tried to shove the seriously injured victim into the back seat of his car. She later needed surgery for life-threatening injuries.

Guilty Plea at Lewes Crown Court

Uddin appeared at Lewes Crown Court on December 6, where he pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving and perverting the course of justice. He had initially planned to fight the charges but changed his plea once the prosecution laid out the evidence.
