Officers soon discovered a nearby vehicle packed with more tagged clothing believed to be stolen. The investigation into the recovered items is still ongoing, with police confirming this is not gang-related.

Two Women Arrested After Theft Spree

Two women have been arrested in connection with the shoplifting incidents. One woman has now been charged, while the other was released on bail. Meanwhile, uniformed and plainclothes officers from Thanet Community Safety Unit continue a tough crackdown on retail crime.

Suspicious Pair Nabbed with Stolen Goods in Separate Incident

In a separate bust, a man and woman caught acting suspiciously in a shop were stopped by police. They admitted to stealing toiletries and clothing. The items were returned, both have been banned from the store, and face a civil claim.

Police Step Up Patrols, Warn Would-Be Thieves

Throughout the day, six more people were stopped over suspicious behaviour. Officers also spoke to youths causing antisocial trouble in the area. Kent Police teamed up with Thanet District Council, running a hub to update the public on crime safety efforts.

Inspector Jim Woodward of Thanet Community Safety Unit said: “Retail crime hits businesses hard and puts shoppers and staff at risk. Our operation combined PCSOs, PCs, beat officers, and partner agencies to spot offenders and stop thefts in their tracks.”

“Thieves beware: You won’t always spot our officers in uniform. We’re watching—even when you think you’ve got away with it.”
