Goring-by-Sea Scores Huge £16.9 Million Postcode Lottery Jackpot

Christmas came early for hundreds of lucky locals in Goring-by-Sea after their postcode bagged a staggering £16.9 million lottery win. The BN12 4 area took home the cash, handing cheques to 718 residents – that’s about one in ten people in the community celebrating a jackpot.

Jackpot Winners Rake in Over £379k Each

Twelve residents from the full winning postcode BN12 4TR each scooped an eye-watering £379,062 per ticket. Among the delighted winners was Stacey, a single mum whose 7-year-old son Phoenix is battling leukaemia. She plans to take her family on an unforgettable American road trip, hitting NASA and finishing at Disney World in Florida.

“I’ve promised my twins a trip of a lifetime after Phoenix’s treatment. This win is going to make that dream happen,” Stacey revealed.

  • Nicki, a fan of People’s Postcode Lottery presenter Jason Donovan, who surprised winners at their doorsteps.
  • Lily, grandmother and longtime resident of over 40 years.
  • Wendy, who said her “wildest dreams have come true”.

Other locals pocketed between £14,816 and £44,448 depending on the number of tickets played.

Jason Donovan Delivers Dream Winnings

Jason Donovan, fresh from his role as People’s Postcode Lottery presenter, thrilled winners by handing out golden envelopes and giant cheques in person.

“The atmosphere was electric. It was fantastic surprising so many lucky residents,” Donovan said. “Christmas has definitely come early to Goring-by-Sea!”

Lottery Supports Local Charities and Causes

This massive prize comes from a draw promoting the Postcode Justice Trust, which funds charities focusing on justice, human rights, and equality. Beneficiaries include the Helen Bamber Foundation, Women for Women International, and Amnesty International UK.

Locally, Home-Start Arun, Worthing & Adur recently received £17,830 to support families with young children, thanks to players’ contributions.

Overall, 33% of ticket sales go straight to charities and good causes, with the People’s Postcode Lottery having raised over £1 billion for community projects and organisations nationwide.
