Woman Attacked After Stopping Car on Lidsing Road

A woman was brutally assaulted after stopping her car on Lidsing Road near Hempstead at around 10pm on Tuesday, 1 June 2021.

Attack Caught Victim Off Guard

The victim pulled up just before the junction with Yelsted Lane after spotting something suspicious in the road. She switched on her hazard lights and got out of her car — only to be ambushed by a man who suddenly appeared from behind.

The attacker shoved her to the ground, delivering more blows before she managed to scramble back into her car and drive away. She suffered scratches and bruises in the terrifying ordeal.

Suspect Description and Police Appeal

The suspect is described as white, with very short dark hair, wearing dark clothes and a blue face mask.

“We are appealing for witnesses who saw the incident or anyone acting suspiciously between 9.30pm and 10.30pm to come forward,” said Detective Inspector Darren Reynolds of the Chief Constable’s Crime Squad. “Dashcam footage from motorists in the area could be critical to our investigation.”
