Gun-Toting Thief Strikes Three Christchurch Shops in One Day!

A 23-year-old London man is set to face charges after a brazen robbery spree across Christchurch on Saturday, March 18, 2017. Police were called at 5.30pm when a man armed with a gun stormed the Co-Op Food store on Fairmile Road and stole food items – but thankfully, no one was hurt and no threats were made.

Robber Targets Shops Armed with Gun

The suspect didn’t stop there. He jumped into a white Ford Fiesta and drove next door to Fairmile Service Station. There, he strutted into the petrol station shop, brandishing the firearm, and helped himself to wine and cigarettes – walking out without paying.

Violence and Collision Follow

Moments later, the same man struck again at Fairmile Convenience Store, stealing more food and cigarettes. During that robbery, a man and woman were reportedly assaulted. As he fled the scene in his Fiesta, he collided with another vehicle.

Court Date Set: Charged with Multiple Offences

The suspect was arrested and charged on Monday, March 20, 2017, with robbery, assault, possession of a firearm without a certificate, theft, and possession of cannabis. He is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, March 21, 2017.
