Masked thug raids Clanfield Co-Op with weapon, steals nearly £340 in cash and cigarettes
Armed robbery shakes local shop
Police have released CCTV shots after a masked man armed with what looked like a gun or air weapon struck the Co-Op on White Dirt Lane, Clanfield, just before 9:50pm on Thursday, May 12.
The robber threatened staff and made off with almost £200 in cash and £139 worth of cigarettes. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the terrifying raid.
Suspect spotted in disguise
The crook is described as white, slim, standing between 5ft 8ins and 5ft 10ins tall. He was decked out in a cream beanie hat and a black balaclava hiding his face.
He wore a black jumper with a high-vis ‘Stay Safe’ vest featuring a triangle logo on the lapel and back, plus the words ‘Customer Service’ plastered on the back. Grey tracksuit bottoms, gloves, and black footwear completed his get-up.
Police urge anyone with information to come forward to help nab this crook.
