Massive Drugs Raids Hit Southampton and Beyond
This morning, Hampshire Constabulary cracked down hard on the drug trade, executing 26 warrants in a major blitz dubbed Operation Fortress. The crackdown targets drug dealers, drug-fuelled violence, and those exploited by crime gangs.
Raids Sweep Southampton, Merseyside and London
Fifteen warrants went down across Southampton alone. Meanwhile, seven hit Merseyside and four more rocked London. The operation was a joint force involving 680 officers from Hampshire Constabulary, South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU), National Crime Agency (NCA), Metropolitan Police, and Merseyside Police.
18 Arrested in Joint Drugs Crackdown
The raids netted 18 arrests so far. Southampton’s District Commander, Superintendent Alison Heydari, vowed: “Drugs related activity will not be tolerated in Southampton.”
She added, “We continue to work closely with our partners to ensure Southampton is a hostile environment for those who wish to pursue a criminal enterprise in this city.”
Your Tips Needed to Beat Crime
Superintendent Heydari urges the public to speak up, saying, “The role of the community in tackling drugs related activity is vital. Please contact us with any information – if we don’t know about it, we can’t act on it.
Help us keep your community safe and protect vulnerable people from harm.”
