Mattress man loses bounce as stores set to close

Mattressman is set to close this will include the store on the Isle of Wight less than 2 years after opening in the heart of Newport. The national bed retailer has announced today (Thursday) that some 14 of its 25 stores across the country are to close with the loss of more than 130 jobs. Struggling sales have prompted a restructuring of the company and as a result the Isle of Wight store, located at Towngate Retail Park, is earmarked for closure on 2nd July. Anyone who has placed an order with the company should rest easy as it has been confirmed that any outstanding customer orders will be fulfilled. If this isn’t possible, refunds will be issued. Mattressman moved into the large retail space off St James’ Street in November 2016 following the downfall of Blockbusters.
