Lorry Fire On A2 Prompts Emergency Response

A significant incident has unfolded as Kent Fire and Rescue Service swiftly responds to a lorry fire on the A2. The incident has occurred on the London-bound carriageway, specifically between Northfleet and the Bean Interchange.

In response to the emergency, two fire engines have been dispatched to the scene, equipped with essential firefighting gear. Firefighters, donned in protective breathing apparatus, are currently engaged in efforts to extinguish the blaze using hose reel jets and a compressed air foam system (CAFs).

The safety of motorists and the public remains a top priority, and as a precautionary measure, the affected section of the A2 has been temporarily closed. This road closure is in place to facilitate the work of emergency services and ensure the safety of all individuals in the vicinity.

In light of this incident, Kent Fire and Rescue Service urges all motorists planning to travel towards the affected area to exercise caution and consider checking for traffic updates to stay informed about any potential delays or diversions.
