A residential property in Hendon became a site of chaos as flames tore through the structure, leaving the roof completely destroyed.
Firefighters swiftly responded to the emergency, deploying six fire engines and approximately 40 firefighters to tackle the inferno at Vivian Avenue in Hendon on the evening of June 5.

The fire ravaged a detached house, believed to be derelict, with the roof bearing the brunt of the blaze. Significant damage was also sustained by parts of the ground floor and first floor of the property. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported thus far.
Despite the intensity of the blaze, firefighters managed to bring the fire under control. However, crews are expected to remain at the scene throughout the night, ensuring the fire is fully extinguished and conducting necessary damping down operations. The firefighting efforts included the deployment of a 32-meter turntable ladder used as a water tower to combat the fire from above.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the circumstances leading to the devastating blaze. The swift response by emergency services prevented further escalation of the situation, highlighting the crucial role of firefighters in safeguarding lives and properties during emergencies.
This incident follows another fire earlier in the day in Hackney, where approximately 100 firefighters battled a blaze, underscoring the ongoing challenges faced by emergency services in responding to such incidents.
