A crash has forced the closure of a busy route in Kearsney, near Dover, this evening (Saturday).

Alkham Road has been shut in both directions following the collision, with witnesses reporting a significant emergency services presence at the scene, including police and fire crews.

Kent Police have  confirmed that Alkham Road is closed from its junction with Abbey Road through to where it meets Alkham Valley Road.

Drivers are being urged to avoid the area and find alternative routes as the closure is expected to continue while emergency services manage the situation.

Emergency services have been contacted for further details about the crash, including any possible injuries.
