The Lanarkshire community is in mourning following the tragic death of a young local man in a road accident near Lesmahagow. Blane Rundell, aged 22, has been identified as the victim of the fatal collision that occurred last Thursday, December 7.
Blane was driving a red Suzuki Alto car when it was involved in a crash with a Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) on the B7078 north of Kerse Roundabout. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Fortunately, there were no other injuries reported from the crash.
A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a road traffic offence relating to the incident. The Lanarkshire Road Policing Unit, led by Sergeant Chris McColm, is conducting a thorough investigation to establish the full circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
