Man Arrested on Suspicion of Attempted Murder After Stabbing in New Malden
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing incident near Shannons Corner in New Malden.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed they were called at 19:00hrs on Tuesday, 23 June, alongside London Ambulance Service, to reports of an assault in the area.
A 67-year-old man was found at the scene suffering from stab wounds. He was rushed to hospital for treatment. Police later confirmed that his injuries were not life-threatening or life-changing.
Following enquiries, a man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder on Wednesday, 24 June. He remains in police custody.
A crime scene was established in the area as officers launched an investigation.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said:
