Police Investigating The Fatal Shooting Of Elle Edwards In A Pub Have Released Video Of The Moment A Suspect Was Apprehended

A number of armed officers are seen entering a residential building from both sides before the suspect is led out in the black and white video. In a fresh appeal for information, Merseyside Police released the footage in a tweet, with the caption: “Watch the moment we arrest a suspect as part of our ongoing investigation into the murder of Elle Edwards in Wallasey on Christmas Eve. Our efforts to remove criminals from our streets will never cease.” The force is asking anyone with information that can help the investigation to contact officers or Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111. Three people have been arrested in connection with Ms Edwards’s murder, which occurred outside a pub. Merseyside Police have said that a 31-year-old man is being questioned in connection with the killing. Ms Edwards, 26, is not believed to have been the intended target of the shots fired outside the Lighthouse Inn in Wallasey Village, Wirral, at around 23.50 GMT. A 30-year-old Tranmere man was previously arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, and a 19-year-old Rock Ferry woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. Both arrests occurred on Boxing Day. On Wednesday, police said they had “some tremendous intelligence,” but they are still looking for the gun that killed Ms Edwards. On Wednesday, forensic officers remained outside the pub, and a cordon was still in place. Officers “will not rest” until justice is served on Ms Edwards’ family, according to Deputy Chief Constable Ian Critchley. “I am still appealing for information from anyone who knows who was responsible for pulling that trigger in the most indiscriminate, most appalling manner,” he told reporters. “We still want to hear from anyone who knows where the weapon is, anyone who has harboured or has any information at all.” Chief Constable Serena Kennedy had previously pledged a “relentless” search for those responsible for the “callous and cold-blooded murder” of Ms Edwards. On Wednesday, Merseyside police renewed their appeal for anyone with information or dashcam, CCTV, or mobile phone footage to come forward.
