Police Close Major Road In Portsmouth Following Incident

Police have closed the major road in Portsmouth this afternoon junction Alfred Rd and Unicorn Rd, the incident still ongoing and drivers are being asked to seek alternative routes. Traffic is reported to be queuing back onto the M275 into Portsmouth, the traffic in the surrounding area is at a stand still. A pedestrian has been hit by a car and has sustained a head injury that is being treated by paramedics that have been sent to the scene. A spokesperson for South Central ambulance confirmed there had been a collision between a pedestrian and a car at about 12.30pm, they sent an ambulance and rapid response paramedic to the scene.
