Woman Jailed for Stabbing Teenage Boy with Champagne Glass at Swindon House Party

A woman has been jailed after launching a violent and unprovoked attack on a teenage boy at a house party in Swindon, stabbing him with a champagne glass.

Drew Stanton-Foreman, 21, of Redhouse Way, was sentenced to two years and eight months in custody at Swindon Crown Court on Monday after being found guilty of inflicting grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent on a 17-year-old male victim.

The court heard that the incident took place during a house party, where the victim was suddenly attacked by Stanton-Foreman without provocation. She used the stem of a broken champagne glass as a weapon, causing serious injuries that required immediate medical attention.

The teenager was left with deep lacerations and trauma following the violent assault, which left partygoers in shock. Emergency services were called to the scene, and the boy was taken to hospital for treatment. He has since recovered physically but continues to deal with the emotional impact of the incident.

During sentencing, the judge described Stanton-Foreman’s actions as “completely reckless and disproportionate,” noting the deliberate nature of the attack and the seriousness of the injury inflicted.

In a statement, Wiltshire Police welcomed the sentence. A spokesperson said: “This was a shocking and senseless act of violence that could have had even more tragic consequences. We hope the sentence handed down provides some measure of closure for the victim and sends a clear message that this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated.”

The court also heard that Stanton-Foreman had shown little remorse during the investigation and proceedings.

She will now serve her sentence in custody, with the possibility of parole after serving half of the term.
