Man Charged After Bemerton Heath Collision Leaves Pedestrian Seriously Injured

 

A man has been charged following a serious incident in which a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Pinewood Close, Bemerton Heath on Saturday evening (10 May 2025).

Ashley Sherred, 33, of Southampton Road, Salisbury, now faces charges of:

Pedestrian Suffers Serious Injuries

The incident occurred around 5.45pm, prompting a major emergency response. The male pedestrian, in his 40s, suffered serious leg injuries and remains in hospital.

Wiltshire Police previously confirmed the vehicle involved—a blue 09-plate Ford Fiesta—had fled the scene but has since been located following public appeals.

Court Appearance Scheduled

Sherred has been remanded into custody and will appear before Salisbury Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 12 May.

“Thank you to everyone who called in with potential sightings,” said a Wiltshire Police spokesperson. “Your support was vital in helping us trace the vehicle.”

Appeal for Witnesses

Police continue to seek any dash cam footage or witness accounts from the time of the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact Wiltshire Police on 101, quoting reference 54250056547, or report anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
