A man wanted in connection with a report of threats to kill has been arrested in Spain.

Daniel Parkes, 43, formerly from Belfast was detained in Malaga on Wednesday 16 September 2020 after Kent Police secured a European Arrest Warrant.

He was sought in connection with threats made over the phone towards two people in Folkestone in 2013. Mr Parkes was charged with the offences but failed to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court in July 2015.

He was extradited from Spain to the UK on Friday 9 October 2020 and appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 10 October 2020. He has since been remanded in custody and is next due to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 9 November 2020.
