A young girl is recovering from serious leg injuries following a hit-and-run incident in Newton Aycliffe.
The collision occurred on Woodham Way at around 5 pm on Thursday, January 16. A vehicle, believed to be a dark Volkswagen Golf, struck the child and fled the scene without stopping.
Emergency services attended, and the girl was taken to the hospital, where she is now recovering from her injuries.
Police Investigation Underway
Durham Constabulary is actively investigating the incident and is appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant information to come forward. Officers are particularly keen to obtain dashcam or doorbell footage from the area.
