Court and Community Reaction
The non-recent nature of the offences, which spanned over a decade, brought to light the long-lasting trauma inflicted on the victims. Authorities have praised the survivors for their courage in coming forward and helping to bring Blewitt to justice.
A spokesperson for the Crown Prosecution Service said:
“This sentence reflects the serious and sustained abuse inflicted by the defendant over a prolonged period. We hope it brings some measure of justice and closure to the victims.”
