A woman has been taken to hospital following a multi-vehicle collision that led to a car overturning on the A2 near Gravesend this morning.
Emergency services responded to the crash near the junction with the A227 Wrotham Road at approximately 8:30 AM. National Highways reported that the incident caused all lanes to be temporarily closed while crews attended the scene.
Emergency Response and Injuries
South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) confirmed that two people were treated at the scene before one woman was transported to Princess Royal University Hospital in Farnborough for further medical attention. Her injuries, along with those of the other individual assessed at the scene, were determined to be non-life-threatening.
A spokesperson for SECAmb stated: “SECAmb was called at approximately 08:38 today (03/03/25) to reports of an RTC at the junction of Watling Street and Wrotham Road in Gravesend. Crews assessed and treated two patients at the scene before conveying one female to Princess Royal University Hospital in Farnborough for further medical treatment.”
Traffic Disruptions and Road Clearance
Kent Police also responded to the incident, assisting with traffic management and vehicle recovery. A spokesperson for the force provided further details: “Kent Police was called at 8:31 AM on Monday, 3 March, to a report of a collision involving two cars on the London-bound A2, near the junction with the A227, Wrotham Road, Gravesend.”
“Patrols attended along with highways officers and assisted with recovering the vehicles and clearing the road. Paramedics also attended, after injuries not considered to be life-threatening were reported.”
Following vehicle recovery efforts, all lanes were reopened before 11:00 AM, restoring normal traffic flow in the area.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and urge motorists to drive with caution.
