Woman Rushed to Hospital after Tractor Crash in Hilsea
Emergency services rushed to the scene of the incident in Hilsea just after 12.10pm today. Fire crews from Cosham and Southsea were called to help cut the trapped driver free from the wreckage after being in collision with the T6 New Holland tractor. Crews using hydraulic cutting equipment removed the roof of the vehicle to free the trapped driver who is thought to have serious injuries. The driver was than left in the care of Paramedics from South Centre Ambulance service. Officers from Hampshire Roads Policing have also called in crash reconstruction officers to help work out the cause of the collision. The collision happened in Northern Parade near to Doyle Avenue in Hilsea. Police have closed the road in both directions whilst they carry out investigation work and have asked driver to seek alternative route whilst the road is closed. Local beat officers are carrying out traffic control at the scene, The woman who was in collision with the five tonne farming machine that was towing a trailer has been rushed to hospital with what is believed to serious injuries. The Road is likely to stay closed for a few hours.
