A woman has tragically died following a serious road traffic collision in the Surrey village of Chelsham on Wednesday morning (April 23).
Emergency services were called at approximately 11.30am to reports of a single-vehicle crash on Limpsfield Road, between the junctions of Ledgers Road and Beech Farm Road. Despite the swift arrival of paramedics, the female driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
Surrey Police confirmed the fatality and extended their condolences to the woman’s family, stating: “Our thoughts are with the victim’s loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.”
The road remains closed in both directions while investigators from the collision investigation unit examine the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Drivers are being urged to avoid the area, with traffic still being diverted through surrounding routes.
A police spokesperson said: “We are continuing to investigate the circumstances of this tragic incident and would ask anyone who may have seen what happened or has dashcam footage from the area at the time to get in touch.”
