A woman has sadly died following a medical emergency on Plumstead High Street, South East London, on Friday, April 11.
Emergency services were called to the scene at 12.17pm, after reports of a serious medical incident in the busy high street area. The London Ambulance Service responded swiftly, dispatching an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic practitioner, and an incident response officer to the scene.
In a statement, a London Ambulance Service spokesperson said:
“We were called at 12.17pm today (Friday 11 April) to reports of a medical incident in Plumstead High Street, SE18.
We sent resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic practitioner and an incident response officer.
Our crews assisted our emergency services partners at the scene. Sadly, despite their best efforts, a woman died.”
The woman has not yet been named and formal identification is expected to take place in due course. The cause of the medical emergency has not been publicly confirmed.
Plumstead High Street remained open during the incident, though a small area was cordoned off while emergency crews attended.
