A woman has been charged with attempted murder following a serious assault in Broadstairs that left another woman in hospital.
Kent Police were called to the St Peter’s area of Broadstairs at approximately 6.50pm on Thursday, 20 March 2025, after reports of a violent incident at a residential property.
Emergency services, including officers and paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service, attended the scene where a woman in her 20s was found with injuries consistent with stab wounds.
She was rushed to a London hospital, where she remains in a serious but stable condition, according to police.
A woman who was known to the victim was arrested at the scene, and an investigation into the circumstances of the incident was launched.
On Saturday, 22 March, Carla Lovejoy, 53, of Guy Close, Broadstairs, was formally charged with attempted murder.
She has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 24 March.
A Kent Police spokesperson said: “We are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding this serious incident. The victim remains in hospital, and our thoughts are with her and her family as she recovers.”
Police have not confirmed whether any additional suspects are being sought, but the investigation remains ongoing.
