A 37-year-old woman from Leasowe has been arrested by officers from the Merseyside Police Roads Policing Unit following a serious road traffic collision in Wirral. The incident occurred this afternoon, on Thursday, October 19, on Welton Road in Bromborough, near the McDonald’s restaurant, at approximately 16.10 BST
According to reports, a silver van collided with a 3-year-old child who had exited a Nissan Qashqai. The child suffered serious injuries and was promptly rushed to the hospital. Currently, her condition is critical but stable.
The driver of the transit van immediately stopped at the scene and is cooperating with the police as they conduct their investigation into the incident.
The 37-year-old woman was arrested on charges of drug driving and child protection-related offences. She will be interviewed by the investigating officers in due course.
Authorities are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or possesses dash-cam footage that may aid in their inquiries to come forward and contact the police.
