Dorset Police are appealing for witnesses and individuals with any information to step forward regarding an incident in which a man was discovered injured on the seafront in Weymouth. The incident took place on The Esplanade, near Marks and Spencer, and was reported to the police at 03.22 BST on Saturday, 7 October 2023, by the ambulance service.
The victim, a man in his 50s, was found with severe injuries and was immediately transported to the hospital for treatment of a serious head injury. In an effort to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine whether there was any involvement from a third party, the police have launched an investigation.
Police Constable Josh Manning, from the Weymouth police, stated, “We have been conducting inquiries into this incident as we seek to establish how the man sustained his injuries and whether there was any third party involvement.” PC Manning further appealed to anyone who was present in the area at the time of the incident and witnessed what occurred or possesses any information that could aid the investigation to come forward and assist the police in their efforts.
