Next came the real heat. Using a high-tech training simulator, firefighters battled a major blaze replicating a full-scale Apache fire. The exercise sharpened their skills for any real-life military aircraft incidents.

Expert Guidance and Local Military Action Keep Skills Sharp

The evening was hosted by Capita Fire and Rescue alongside the White Watch team, who offered expert tips and answered all queries.

“Huge thanks to Capita and White Watch for supporting our crew’s development,” said an Amesbury Fire Station spokesperson.

Military helicopters, especially Apaches, buzz over Wiltshire regularly during training. Salisbury Plain’s vast stretches often play host to these drills, keeping local emergency crews on their toes for potential aircraft emergencies.
