A man in his 30s has been arrested after a terrifying attack at a Bradford on Avon health centre, which left six people assaulted. The chaos unfolded just after 6pm on Tuesday (17 March) at the Station Approach pharmacy and health centre.

Mayhem at Health Centre

  • The suspect caused extensive damage to the health centre and pharmacy.
  • He stole medication amid the violent spree.
  • Staff and patients were assaulted during the incident.

Following his violent outburst, the man fled, triggering an urgent air search by the National Police Air Service helicopter. Police later caught up with him, arresting the Bradford on Avon local on multiple charges.

Charges Laid, Surgery Shut

The suspect now faces six counts of common assault, criminal damage, affray, theft, and assaulting an emergency worker. He remains in Melksham custody for questioning.

In the wake of the attack, Bradford on Avon Health Partnership confirmed the surgery would close today (Wednesday, 18 March) due to damage. Face-to-face appointments have been switched to phone calls, and nearby surgeries at St Margarets and Winsley are open for urgent needs.
