A murder investigation has been launched following the fatal stabbing of a man in his 30s at a residential address in Bondway, Vauxhall early on Saturday morning.
The Metropolitan Police were called at 5.38am to reports of an altercation inside a residential property in SW8. Officers attended the scene alongside London Ambulance Service paramedics, who found a man suffering from knife injuries.
Despite the best efforts of medical staff, the victim sadly died at the scene. His next of kin have yet to be informed, and formal identification is expected to take place in due course.
Two Arrested at the Scene
Two men, aged 35 and 33 , were arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. Both remain in custody at a south London police station while enquiries continue.
A forensic crime scene remains in place as detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command investigate the circumstances of the attack.
Appeal for Information
Detective Inspector Aytac Necati, who is leading the investigation, said:
“Sadly, a man has lost his life in the most horrendous of circumstances. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.”
“We understand the effect this will have on the local community, and will ensure that officers are deployed on reassurance patrols to respond to any questions or concerns.”
“Two men have already been arrested. Detectives are working hard to establish the circumstances of what happened. At this time, we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.”
Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has CCTV, doorbell or dashcam footage from the area between 5am and 6am on Saturday, 5 July, is urged to come forward.
